Planning Your Days, Is It Important?

How many of us get up each morning and spend the first 20 / 30 minutes scrolling on your phone? It’s almost natural instinct in this day and age. A way around this procrastination is by planning. If you plan your day the day before by setting out tasks to complete each day I find that this breaks the procrastination spell.

Now you might be thinking “what do I need to plan for”. Well it literally could be anything. I usually take 10 minutes at the end of each night to have a think about tasks that I need to do the next morning, makes it a lot easier with a child cause certain things never change.

Reasons for planning your day:

  • Sense of achievement – if you are able to tick lot of on your to do list then you are likely be happy with yourself. I’m a big advocate of celebrating small wins, that may be as small as not snoozing your alarm in the morning.
  • Heightened productivity – planning your day means a stop to procrastination, a reduction of distractions and allows you to focus on the real important things you need to do each day.
  • Potential decrease in stress – by planning your giving yourself less to think about each day, in turn should relax you more and allow to have more you time if you are productive. As a result this should help eleviate stress.

Overall, the potentially simple concept of planning out your day could revolutionise your days. The amount of procrastination I have saved as a result of pre planning and setting time aside for tasks I otherwise wouldn’t think of or wouldn’t get to if I hadn’t of tried.
